Overview
|
xxxxxAdam went from being a musician and comics geek to a monster-killing vigilante after a visit to Aleswich went all pear-shaped. He lost his family, including his fiancee and the kid they would've had. The aunt and uncle he came to visit are dead, their farmhouse in shambles outside the safe zone. His cousins are scattered out there, maybe alive but probably dead. It just seems right to go through the motions of looking, and if a few nasties get capped along the way, all the better. With everything else gone, sometimes killing monsters is the only thing worth getting up for in the morning.
xxxxxThat's not the face he shows the world, though. What's left of it. There's little house that survived the destruction more or less intact, though the same can't be said of the previous owners. The new owner turned the downstairs into a pub, and there's a piano in what used to be the drawing room. Adam's still a musician. In exchange for room upstairs and board, he plays for the people who come for something to drink, maybe something to eat, and to listen to a little music for awhile.

Hozier - Arsonist's Lullaby
- When I was a man I thought it ended
- When I knew loves perfect ache
- But my peace has always depended
- On all the ashes in my way
- All you have is your fire
- And the place you need to reach
- Don't you ever, tame your demon
- But always keep him on a leash
Gary Jules - Mad World
- All around me are familiar faces
- Worn out places, worn out faces
- Bright and early for their daily races
- Going nowhere, going nowhere
- Their tears are filling up their glasses
- No expression, no expression
- Hide my head, I wanna drown my sorrow
- No tomorrow, no tomorrow
All American Rejects - Move Along
- When when all you got to keep is strong
- Move along, move along like I know you do
- And even when your hope is gone
- Move along, move along
- Just to make it through
